Takis Proestakis went outside to feed his rescue dogs as soon as the heavy rain stopped. The Takis’ Shelter founder recalled that he was busy putting food on the pups’ bowls when he noticed that his doggos were all barking at something outside the facility’s fence.
Takis went out of the facility to check why his dogs were barking and saw a stray dog lying helplessly on the field of dead grass right outside his shelter. Takis was relieved to see that the pooch did not feel scared when he tried to pet him.
Takis shared that the dog was not feeling good because he kept whimpering in pain, so he decided to carry the pooch back to his facility. Takis said that he would take good care of the stray pup even though he already has a lot of dogs.
Takis admitted that he was not sure how the stray dog found his facility, but he was glad that the pup ended up in the right place. Takis said that the poor puppy did the right thing for resting his exhausted little body near his shelter because he was going to do everything save him.
Takis named the dog Smart because of how intelligent he was for coming to his shelter. Takis reassured Smart that everything would be fine, and he would help him get better.
Takis fed Smart the following morning, and he was happy to see that Smart was already wagging his tail. Takis shared that Smart still feels shy and hides under the table, but he knows that Smart will eventually come out of his shell.
Smart eventually became more trusting and started hanging out with the dogs at Takis’ shelter. Takis said that he would foster Smart until he is ready to be put up for adoption.
