There are a lot of stereotypes about pit bulls for years now. These breeds often get hated and demonized in many countries.
In shelters, it’s so much worse. Pit bulls don’t get adopted because people often think they are vicious animals, for which they obviously aren’t.
The Daniels family from Ohio had a fondness for such breeds. In fact, their former pitbull Derby just passed away recently.
It’s no surprise that when they realized they needed a new furry member and went into Adore-A-Bull Rescue, they went straight ahead to the nearest pit bull in their sight, Ember. By doing so, they don’t realize that choosing Ember would change their lives forever.
One early morning, Ember came to the Daniels’ room all of a sudden. Mrs. Daniels expressed that the dog’s reaction is so unlike her, but she got up anyway to let her out.
As she approached Ember, the dog suddenly ran towards the kids’ bathroom. In there, she found her 10-year-old son, Tre, having a full seizure.

They immediately rushed Tre to the emergency room, thanks to Ember. When the family came home from the hospital, the dog wouldn’t leave his side. He tends to sleep at the foot of Tre’s bed all the time.

“She’s a great dog. I don’t know what I can do without her,” Trey told Local 12 to express his gratefulness for Ember.
Tony Daniels explains that nasty accidents involving pit bulls are not always about the breeds’ behavior but the owners themselves. The truth is, a pitbull only reflects the temperament that you show them. Thus, if owners treat them violently, they will show you violence. But if you treat them with love and care, they will reciprocate you with gentle, loving care as well.
Ember’s story is proof that all animals may have different traits, but one will always reciprocate what you will show them.
