Medicine is one of the things in life that we need, but we don’t like.
Who even likes the taste of medicine? We surely don’t.
For the adorable malamute, Phil, in this story, medicine is something he doesn’t want to deal with.
The video starts off with the owner carrying the medicine with him. As he opens the door to let Phil in, the dog cautiously walks in and heads towards his mom.
Phil takes a turn and sniffs the medicine that his dad was carrying. He knew what it was and wanted none of it.
His dad tries to encourage and assure him that the medicine is good for him, but Phil wouldn’t budge. He sits next to his mom as if asking her to help him NOT take the medicine.
His dad continues to encourage and show him the medicine.
Phil puts his head on his mom’s lap as he tries his best to ignore dad.
But Mom was encouraging him too. With lots of pets, rubs, and love, mom eggs him on to take the medicine.
Phil raises his big fluffy paw as if saying, “Mom, I’m not taking that.”
Dad lets him sniff the medicine again, assuring him that it’s good for him. All the while, Phil’s sister Niko is watching him from the window, and she’s probably relieved that it wasn’t her taking the medicine.
When nothing else was going to convince Phil to take his medicine, his dad had to resort to drastic measures – giving Phil more love and cuddles!
After a while of tender loving care, his dad finally takes the medicine and places it inside Phil’s mouth. Though hesitant, Phil took the medicine like the good boy that he is.
Well done, Phil! It wasn’t so bad, was it?
