Surfing is not for the faint-hearted. This hobby requires unmatched bravery. Also, some prerequisite skills are needed for you to perfect riding waves.
On top of these skills is balance. Surfing is all about keeping yourself steady while riding a wave. You have to keep yourself standing on the surfboard for as long as the wave you are riding lasts.
Another crucial skill in surfing is swimming. You need to be able to paddle out to where the waves commence. Usually, that’s a little far from the shoreline, which means you need to have decent swimming skills.
Lastly, surfing requires an acquired technique. That’s something you’ll learn after trying out the sport repeatedly. You’ll discover whether you’re a goofy-footer or not, and from that derive the moves that you’re comfortable doing on the surfboard.
However, if you’re a dog, you don’t require any of the skills mentioned above. All you need is a human companion who loves the beach and the ocean, and one who’s willing to let you loose with a surfboard among the waves. The dogs in our featured video are lucky to have been raised by such happy-go-lucky owners.
Most of the dogs in the video surf better than the majority of those who dabble in surfing. Their undeniable talent on the surfboard means this is something they often do. The waves do not intimidate these dogs anymore.
These dogs vary in shape and size. They are of different breeds. They all gathered along Huntington Beach for their shared love of riding waves.
We assume these dogs’ humans are devoted surfers themselves. That can easily explain how their pets have become such accomplished surfers. It’s something ingrained in their very lifestyle.
All these surfer doggos are winners in our book. They all deserve a trophy and lots of treats.
